Join women graduate students, post doctoral fellows, and faculty for lunch and an invited speaker. This month's invited speaker is Dr. Gordana Vunjak-Novakovic. She will be speaking about the Columbia tenure committee, developing a tenure package, and the importance of committee participation for your professional development.
Dr. Vunjak-Novakovic is the Mikati Foundation Professor of Biomedical Engineering and Medical Sciences and the Director of the Laboratory for Stem Cells and Tissue Engineering at Columbia University. Dr. Vunjak-Novakovic discussed how to best prepare for the Tenure process while discussing her specific career path choices and the lessons she’s learned along the way.

Dr. Keren Bergman is a Professor and Chair of Electrical Engineering at Columbia University where she also directs the Lightwave Research Laboratory. She leads multiple research programs on optical interconnection networks for advanced computing systems, data centers, optical packet switched routers, and chip multiprocessor nanophotonic networks-on-chip. Labeling herself the "resident nerd", she tells us of her journey as a woman in Engineering.
